“Thanksgiving Family Give Back”

As some of you know, we are VERY family oriented here at Uncle Bo’s. As I’ve mentioned before, we will be CLOSED the entire week of Thanksgiving: from Monday, November 25th 2019 through Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019

Reopening on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019, for our NORMAL BUNSIESS HOURS @ 4pm.

The reason we do this is we FIRMLY believe that this is a time to be with your Family and this includes our employees. Simply put, I know that we will lose out on sales for the week, but we can always make more money; we CANNOT EVER get back the memories lost, by chasing the almighty dollar.

However, we are proud to announce that while we are closed that week, we are going to begin working (now) with local Churches and other organizations to host a FREE Thanksgiving dinner, for those in our community that may need a little extra love, during this time of year.

We want to give THANKS, for our blessings, by GIVING back to those that need it the most. We have set the date for Tuesday November 26th 2019, from 6-9pm. If you have an church/organization in mind, PLEASE send us an EMAIL with the name of the organization/church and a person of contact, PLEASE don't post it here; an email will work so much better.

Send it to: Unclebo.bbq@yahoo.com

Thank you!

While we are not asking for help, I realize that many of you will want to reach out and offer some form of support. So, if you feel that you’d like to donate to this event, we will have a “donation bucket” located at the checkout counter, in the restaurant; beginning this weekend and going through the Sunday, November 24th, 2019.

While we have not taken the opportunity to reach out to very many places, regarding their ability to help sponsor this event, we are proud to announce that “B’s Car Stereo; locate at 2420 Midway Mall, Elyria Ohio, has already announced they will be participating in this event as a sponsor.

My Staff will be off for the week, although many have already said they will be here to help prep, cook, set up, serve food and prepare for this event. We will likely need some volunteers to help. So, if you’re interested in volunteering your time for this, please send us an email with your name and contact information, as well as a good time to reach you, to the following email address (PLEASE put “Volunteer” in the subject line”), so that your email can find it’s way to the proper channels and you can be contacted.

Send your emails to:

Unclebo.bbq@yahoo.com .

Please be advised, before offering your time, that cooking for mass amounts of people can be very laborious and time consuming. So, if you’re not able to stand for long hours, you may not want to offer your services to “cook”, but you can always find other ways to help with the event.

What we are trying to offer:

This will be a “buffet line” style event, and each person that comes in will be given a ticket to go through the line, after everyone is served, we will then open the line up to offer ‘seconds”, if they’re available. We will be offering a basic Thanksgiving dinner (consisting of the following); Turkey, Mashed potatoes and Gravy, Dressing (stuffing), Buttered Corn, Steamed Green Beans, Salad (tomato, red onions, and cucumbers), with various salad dressings and dinner rolls. We have not figured out a budget for any desserts, or dinnerware, but I’m sure we will be able to at least provide pumpkin pie (w/whipped cream) and some form of durable, but disposable plates and flatware. Again, all of the details are not completely figured out at the time of this announcement.

If you would like to “donate” a dessert, please DO NOT bring it to the restaurant more than a week before the planned dinner, as it will simply be outdated, by the time it can be served.

What we need:

We still need the support of this community, in order to sustain our longevity in the community. So, all that we really need is your support.

I do hope that I’ve answered many of the anticipated questions, but if I’ve left anything out, please feel to send us an email and we will respond accordingly; put “thanksgiving question” in the subject line of your email.

Thank you all for your time and support!

Kind Regards,
Uncle Bo

P.S. If you missed the previous post, we will also be closed for the entire week of Christmas, so our employees can enjoy this time with their family as well. Closing on Sunday December 22nd, at our normal time (10pm) and reopening on Wednesday January 1st at our normal time (4pm).
